A Case For Predestination
"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
.3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. 4. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5. And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly"
So the last blog topic was a little hard to swallow, was it? You haven’t written me off yet as a loon, you are still reading. If it is any consolation to you, I too had trouble with this whole topic. Firmaments, vaults, domes and spheres, windows of heaven and doors to the underworld – Labyrinth Part II, right?
Traversing this topic without scripture though, is what has been done by many. People will accept it from a new-age guru, but not from a Christ believer. However in order to lend legitimacy to the “science” of “spheres”, “crystals” and vaults, even your deceivers and “lightworkers” have had to resort to scripture to play that “common bond” and “sell it”. “Yes the Bible has part of the story, but we have the complete story” they tell you.
When it comes down to salvation, you’re not required to know what a “firmament” is or what the word means. You have Christ truly in your heart, you’ve given your life over to him and to God through Jesus Christ, that love has already connected you to the father.
The reason I even went into this subject (and trust me, I did not really want to. I can hear the taunts in the background now . . . “flat-earther!”), is because of three reasons:
The first – This subject of the “firmament” is going to be used and played toward the “global deception”. We’ll get into that.
Second – At some point, you are going to have to realize that science in general, is a lie twisted around the truth. You are going to have to decide – man’s law or God’s law – which one will you choose to grasp?
And Third – We had to climb the wall of this subject and it’s “great deep” and the “waters above” the firmament and the “waters below” the firmament. This is important because those that will be joining Christ in God’s kingdom . . . And that is the subject of “predestination”. We’ve been over this subject before.
Yes, there is scripture to support this. There is also scripture to support the need for evangelizing. And there are some very sly and very “friendly” helpers out there more than eager to convince you that you need to do nothing – that your place in Heaven was already pre-written and I want to go over this right now.
2 Peter 2 And the Old World
Of the few verses quoted from several online videos arguing for “predestination” – for EVERYONE, this is one such verse:
"According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5. Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,"
This is Paul in his letter to the group of people called a “church” in Ephesus. Paul was a Jew who once persecuted and arrested Christians. But those in Ephesus were in Greece. Only a couple of people who worked with him were also one of the descendents of Israel. The others were grafted according to the grace through Jesus Christ. And Indeed, Jesus did pray in the garden of Gethsemane, thanking God and asking him to watch over all those that God promised to Jesus:
"And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. 6. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word."
Who were they that God manifested his name to out of the world? His disciples. They were “children of Israel”, some of them Jews, some of them sons of the other tribes. Jesus prays for them in verses 7 through 17 even mentioning “the son of perdition” (Judas) so that the scriptures might be fulfilled. But see this:
"Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21. That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:"
Jesus prayed first for God’s word to be fulfilled through him, then he prayed for those God gave him from the foundation of the world, then he prayed for those that would be “saved” through the word Jesus gave them . . . that is your Holy Bible and your “Gospels” and the New Testament.
While I agree that God knew what number there would be, the majority of them would be a “work in progress”. Remember the ensign to the Gentiles.
If everyone were predestined to go to heaven, there would be no need for the devil to work his “deception”; even he is smarter than that. He has no need to work so hard for those that he already has. He’s going after those he doesn’t yet have. This grand show that the devil is putting together also has a purpose, and that is to steal souls – it is written:
"Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins."
How would this be possible if everyone that God numbered were pre-written into heaven? It is true that God has ordained the chosen for certain callings; and it is true that God’s elect were written into God’s kingdom from the foundation of the world. Does this include every soul that is saved or does this only include the “elect” that God calls the children of Israel or the “remnant”?
These verses also give question to this “predestination” issue:
"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise."
"A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies."
Why did Jesus tell his disciples to go out and preach the Gospel if everyone who would be saved had already been sealed from the foundation of the world? Why did Jesus himself preach the gospel if the “saved” had already been chosen”?
"And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 15. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. 16. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears."
Funny how things like that just “happen”. Jesus announced his own purpose by reading it directly from scripture in the synagogue strait from his 40-day fight with the devil and In the Holy Spirit.
Jesus came to “SAVE”. His death would be in vain if God had pre-saved all the millions of souls from hell. Even if his purpose of death rested solely on the restoration of DNA ONLY . . . We are still beholden to Christ to even access God.
"But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
Then let us take a look at who the “elect” are again, and why Jesus said to preach the Gospel. The “adding of souls” is mentioned in scripture:
"Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls."
That must have been a great revival. Three thousand. I don’t think Billy Graham even had so many souls saved in one day. It also in scripture mentions those who “make merchandise” of men and of souls, one such scripture in Revelation itself mentions the buying and selling of “the souls of men”:
"And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: 12. The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13. And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men."
And Ezekiel – about those who “hunt” the souls of God’s people:
"And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?"
And Jeremiah in a lamentation speaks for the Lord, of those “priests” and “mine elders” who sought material comfort for their souls at the expense of truth and of God:
"I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: my priests and mine elders gave up the ghost in the city, while they sought their meat to relieve their souls."
They “gave up the ghost” in the city in favor of meat to relieve their souls. Comfort food for truth? But God through Ezekiel reminds us who is in charge – that though all souls are “His”, He created them – those that reject Him and reject his Son shall not live forever:
"Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die."
So the reason Jesus told us to “preach the Gospel” was so that those “certain men” who were “before of old, ordained to this condemnation” would not take naïve souls with them to death (Jude 1:4-9) who are also “reserved” from the angels “which kept not their first estate, but left their habitation”. Not that it will make any difference in God’s plan, but they seek to take as many from God as they can.
The Elect and the Saved
There is the predestined “elect” and the “ordained to condemnation” men of old. Then there are those left to chose between life and death.
Consider this warning about the “elect”:
"21. For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
24. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. "
For the elect, those days shall be shortened. That being said, who then is still here to decieve? Verse 24 says that “if it were possible” they shall deceive the very elect. But that won’t be possible because their days of tribulation are shortened. This was repeated in Mark 13 in regard to “deceptions” and the “signs and lying wonders”.
"For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect."
So just who is the elect? Revelation describes an end times scenario where they are still “sealing” them:
"And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3. Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads."
So the worst part of the Tribulation does not take place until ALL the servants of God are sealed – this is the “elect”. Isaiah tells us who the "elect" is:
"For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me."
In Isaiah verses 1-3, the Lord is telling Cyrus that even though Cyrus has not known Him, God has chosen him for Jacob’s sake and for the sake of “Israel mine elect” to show Cyrus who He is. The sealing of God’s elect began even in the Old Testament. We are told in Romans what the number of them was at that time and that they were part of the “remnant” that God chose according to the election of “grace”.
"But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5. Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace."
Back in Isaiah and in Romans, we are told of the tragedy of Israel:
"For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness."
"Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:"
In Isaiah 11, there is one verse in which we covered on the topic of Zerubbabel’s promise from the Lord that he would “make thee as a signet”; we learn that the “Root of Jesse”, a Jew would be “an ensign” to the people – a sign to which “the Gentiles will seek”.
"And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. 11. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth."
This describes BOTH Jesus in his time AND the setting of his hand the “second time”, to recover the “remnant”, of those that never bowed their knee to Baal. These are the coming of the days when the lion will eat grass with the ox and the wolf shall dwell with the lamb. In Revelation 7, the “remnant” is counted and described beyond the seven thousand mentioned in Romans 11:
"4. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel."
John was then shown the MULTITUDE – of all nations, kindreds and tongues who were saved by the blood of Jesus -
9. After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
13. And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14. And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."
It is important for you to know that resting in any belief that we get to God through any other avenue but Christ is folly, to your detriment. Do not believe anyone that tells you that "all" are God's elect spoken of as "predestined". God has predestined an elect from the foundation of the world. They are the children of Israel. Were it not for Jesus Christ, the Gentiles would have no hope of knowing God. And the reason God made this so was because those of his own would reject him as they reject his Son, Jesus.
The elect are the elect. The multitudes saved are at risk until the servants of God reach them and they embrace the love of Christ.
I will get into what this has to do with the "firmament" and the "great deep" next, and what all that has to do with the deception because the reason for it would not exist if "predestination" was assigned to all mankind.
