HIStory In The Mix
"The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here."

I thought this a very appropriate title considering the subject. “HIStory In the Mix” was the name of Michael Jackson’s 5th adult solo album, released in 1996. The message behind the title was two-fold – HIS-story in the mix (listen to the adlibs and the extra-instrumental background sounds) and also History in the Mix – they have mixed up history, changed history . . . lied.
We have a few things to cover here, and some Biblical examples as to why YOUR relationship with God is YOUR responsibility. Man can teach you the things God shows him in scripture. I can show you what God has shown me, but it is up to you to test these things in scripture. You should be encouraged to solidify your own relationship with Him by learning the meaning behind His Word. You cannot discredit or verify anything written here without measuring it against what God’s Word says.
There will be times just as there have been for me, that you will put your head down on your desk in tears because of the things that you learn. You will cry and become frustrated at people and FOR people. You will at times forget that God already knows what is going to happen, and you take comfort even as you cry for the lost.
You will also come face to face with joy over the things that God will show you. You see the big picture and the pieces at once, and the wonder of all that God has done, put together, scattered and reassembled again to our benefit and God’s glory as well.
Remember Self-Sacrificing Love is a Blessed Cleansing
With every sacrifice to succumb to , God is showing me things, and leading me in scripture to the next revelation of His Word. This is not without its trials, because there are doctrines of men which seek to steal meaning from the Word that God reveals.
I am reading through the Book of Moses and the Book of Abraham in the Mormon "Pearl of Great Price". These are the books they claim Smith translated from Egyptian papyri. We went over this on the two part blog "Following it To the Letter".
If an example exists in writing as to why God said not to seek out strange spirits for answers to God's mysteries, this has to be one of the greatest writings on the wall. It is clear to me they do not understand what "the seed" is written in scripture. They claim knowledge of the spiritual vs. the physical, but they know not the "seed" as God revealed in His Word. If they claim knowledge of the spiritual, why then would the seek to keep men adhered to the ceremonies and laws of the flesh?
The Bible tells us:
"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."
It is possible to receive another spirit through those who claim to be teaching of Christ but are not. Once you open those doors, it is a battle to get them back out of your house.
The Mormon issue is becoming a problem - I have admittedly a very strong dislike for the organization, especially knowing some of their "priesthood" more personally, and the slimey tactics in which they wedge themselves between you and a family member, but that is just it. I have to cut the rope between the majority of their people and the organization itself.
The angel in my dream from June 1, 2012 told me "it's the others you have to worry about. They don't know they're already dead".
I take this to mean that many of God's children are entrapped in that lie. And I will not lie to you that one of those children is my husband. You talk about a two-edged sword; how is it that I pray for intervention from God for a man that lets the devil right in our front door? Especially when the fight is on both sides of that door? He let them in, so now the enemy is both in my house and outside of it. Am I not supposed to be angry about this?
If I have to witness to these people, I have to let God fight for my husband and that is what I am having a hard time letting Him do - It seems there is another rope I have to cut and that is the one between me and my husband. Perhaps this is the only way. He cannot fall into the arms of God if I refuse to let him go. Pain? I can taste it at the back of my throat every time I think about it. I can feel it break just before the tears start and I can taste them too.
Today, as I prayed in my bathroom (I have a chair in there now where I can sit and do this . . . the only quiet place in the house), I remembered a man who possibly lost a one that he loved, that he tried to save. He lost her to a similar false religion. You know who she is and you know who he is if you have been reading since 2011. She is also another with no more light in her. She is dead and doesn't even know it.
One of the issues with this Mormon organization is the blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. We are told in John 7 that the Holy Ghost was not yet given because Jesus had not yet been glorified" -
“(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)"
The Holy Ghost is not mentioned in the Old Testament, yet in the books of Moses and Abraham of the Doctrine "Pearl of Great Price" in the Mormon religion, the Holy Ghost is written as upon Moses and Abraham in their respective chapters. While that in itself would not be considered heresy, the re-writing of the books of Genesis and God's creation to include multiple gods and a Jesus that was begotten before he came in the flesh is a gross misinterpretation of who Jesus is, and God himself.
We are also told that blasphemy of the Holy Ghost is the only sin not forgiven of men in several verses such as Luke 2:10.
One who understands how the Holy Ghost works, which is no mystery thanks to the Bible, would be able to discredit Joseph Smith right away - Because anyone praying and asking God for understanding would be led to the scripture of truth, which words would be then opened to him, just as they have been with me or anyone desiring truth. God would not direct them to write another scripture.
They have even argued that the prophets of the Bible wrote books through the Spirit and so Joseph Smith claims the same. There is two problems with this position: One, Joseph Smith’s “seer” abilities if we only take into account the Book of Mormon, is nothing but a rewrite of Jeremiah, Isaiah and Ezekiel accustomed to another continent via other named “prophets” whom have no lineage in the Bible from Jacob; Secondly, later “gospel” introduced such as the “Pearl of Great Price” not only contradicts their own scripture as well as the Bible, but did not come by “vision” but through so-called Papyri rolls proven to be pagan scrolls buried with Egyptian Mummies (Book of Breathings, Book of the Dead). It is from these that their “Doctrines and Covenants” and “Endowment” ceremonies are based.
None of it is new. It is all a repackaging of the pagan practices that put Israel into bondage in the first place. Their members don’t see it, but their upper leadership know it.
I will say it again – if Joseph Smith received any vision from the Holy Ghost sent in Christ Jesus’ name, the Holy Ghost would have opened up the meaning of scripture, not instructed him to write contradictory books or doctrines.
The fact that many of the prophets echoed each other in the Holy Bible proves that the Spirit (nor the Holy Ghost in Christ’s name) sent the prophets ANY OTHER gospel other than the one that was written since the foundation of the world. That gospel is the Word, which was made flesh, which was Christ Jesus.
Any other gospel preached or written embellishing, teaching and contradicting that which Christ taught and the prophets before him will be a witness against those that do so. As Paul said – let him be accursed.
It is in scripture itself that the Word is from the beginning. The Bible's words are from the beginning. It is complete as it is, and has been in its various forms, scrolls, and if not written down, then inside those prophets of old.
Many other books have and will be written – “The Preacher” in Ecclesiastes attests to this in Ecclesiastes 12:12, where it talks about the many books:
"And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh."
These books of course, are those that are of us; but also attesting to the many books that will be “written”. There is a reason God has chosen the books to be “Gospel” just as there is a reason God has chosen certain people to “bear his name” and to be prophets.
There is no need for the Bible to be re-written. No arguments charging “change” or “rewrites” or “edits” or “translations” can stand – because it is written:
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
There is not one incident in scripture, the Holy Bible, where a prophet was lead to any other scripture, or given writings of any other language to interpret into another Gospel. And it is abrasive to be asked to accept a Gospel from a spirit not of God, not of Christ, when the Gospel has already been written which supremacy is good for all nations, all tongues and all continents. It has been already written from the beginning. Any additions are either just history, or an attempt to cover the truth.
Syria, Shem, Asshur and Nineveh
On “Syria’s Secret” which was part 1 of the two-part “Following It To The Letter”, We broke into some history through Wikipedia and other sources (news, books) on the events in Iraq and Syria before, during and just after World War II.
We reviewed ancient cities of antiquity “Damascus”, “Aleppo” (named for the first letter of the Semitic Alphabet), and a DailyBeast.com news article on ISIS taking over the oldest city, Nineveh. We had posted this:
We posted below that:
Finding the etymology on this was difficult because Nineveh was one of the first cities established after the flood of Noah. According to the Bible, Noah’s son Shem stayed in the area just south of Turkey, which included parts of Iraq. Shem’s sons spread south into what is now the north of the Arabian Peninsula to include Jordan and Israel territories (Palestina). Some of his other sons went into other areas.
It is assumed by some Biblical scholars that Asshur was evil because he founded Nineveh and Nineveh eventually fell. It doesn’t say this specifically in scripture, but it does refer to the “land of” Asshur, and “Ashtoreth” could very well have been sourced in the worship of Asshur either before or after he died.
Nineveh in the Bible was saved after Jonah finally did as God commanded, and went to the city to preach the Gospel to them. Everyone in the city repented and Nineveh was spared by God. There was also the foretelling of the destruction of Nineveh as they too forgot the teachings of God.
Here is what we know about Nineveh:
Isn’t that interesting? History repeats itself, or so they would have you believe. The “civil war” going on today was started by outsiders trying to stomp out Christianity and blaming it on a created enemy.
Interestingly the Cimmerians are described as an “Indo-European people living north of the Caucasus and the Sea of Azov”. So again, “Syria” is invaded by “peoples of the north”. And according to this article and its sources, Assyria fell just in time for Babylon to again become an empire, and just before Nebuchadnezzar and the seventy year exile of the Jews in Babylon.
Biblically this relates to these end days as such:
"21. And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. 22. And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
23. And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. 24. He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time."
It’s all been attempted before, but as the Bible teaches and one singing prophet declared before he was caught up – “This is It, this is really it, this is the final curtain call . . .”
The patterns are repeated – different leaders, different names for the same countries, and the oppression of the same peoples . . . those of God; those knowing truth.
Etymology of Nineveh:
The house of fish? That’s like “Bethlehem’s” “oil-press” explanation, (Bethlehem = house for the name of God), it’s lies. So I did my own searching.
Break up of word "Nineveh"= "nin or nine" - "eveh or eve":
Either translation of the “eve” part of the word would fit “Nineveh”. Nineveh was the first settled after the flood (was it?) or where civilization began to grow (begat, child). It could also be where the serpent again took root to corrupt since Nineveh did have to be saved by God via Jonah, who at first shirked this responsibility.
Some of the most widely used sources seem to disregard scripture where Nineveh is concerned: Why? Because is has to be “Nimrod”, not any son of “Shem” (Sem, Semite) because . . . that would be anti-Semitic?
Sources like Abram-Publications gets it wrong. They quote Genesis 10:10 saying Nimrod build Nineveh, but it says nothing about Nineveh in verse 10. It is verse 11 where we discover it is Shem's son Asshur who build's Nineveh. Nimrod founded "Babel" which becomes the "great city" after Nineveh is destroyed.
This is what the Bible says:
Nimrod was the grandson of Ham under Cush. He founded Babel. Ashhur, son of Shem founded Nineveh. First Genesis 10 on Nimrod -
"Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood. 2. The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3. And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah. 4. And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. 5. By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
6. And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. 7. And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan. 8. And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord. 10. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11. Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,"
It is in verses 21-22 a little further down in that same chapter that we learn that Asshur is the son of Shem:
"21 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born. 22. The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram."
Now you know why Paul had to tell them:
"8. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
10. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. 11. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ."
Paul was put on the “street called Straight” by Christ, not by man. And we know now why William Tyndale was persecuted, which he was heard to say”
One of the exquisite blessings I have in being charged with this answer to my request is when I read things like this, I feel the heart of those who suffered to open God’s Word to those deceived or shut out. I love William Tyndale because he loved truth, which is God. He was not seeking after man or stopped by the churches that sought to shut him down – and accordingly God answered his prayer to open the eyes of the King, who’s name is on the English Bible I read.
A short history on Nineveh and we will move on:
Nineveh is the city that God sent Jonah to preach the gospel. Jonah tried to run away and ended up in the belly of a fish for three days (hence the rather 'dumb' Armaic suggestion that Nineveh meant "fish"). Jonah's preaching actually saves Nineveh - Jonah 1:1-3, Jonah 3:3-10
In Nahum chapters 1-3, Nineveh again falls to evil and its destruction is foretold in much the same way went Babel the first time, Sodom and Gomorrah, Jericho and others in the Bible and what is again happening in Syria. Again Babylon will fall, and that "great city spiritually called Sodom and Egypt".
There was a righteous of Nineveh, as we are told in Matthew and Luke
when the men of Nineveh (spelled Νινευι, Nineui, or Ninevites Νινευιτης, Nineuites) will judge the generation of Christ (Matthew 12:41, Luke 11:30-32).
"But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40. For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41. The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here."
"For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation. 31. The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. 32. The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here."
According to Wikipedia's which no source is listed, Nineveh had become the center of Ishtar worship by about 3,000 B.C. Ishtar is not mentioned in the Bible, but it is mentioned that Nineveh fell just before Babylon, which God gave over the nobles of Israel for seventy years.
Two more links on this – One connects Nineveh to the “Akkadian” empire pre-Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylon. It summarizes the history between 6,000 B.C. (pre-flood?) through 3,000 B.C. which would have been about the time that Noah came on the scene. Approximately 2500 B.C. is when the rains began and Noah entered the ark. This is accurate in approximation because of the age of Noah when he began building the ark, and the time it took him as he was ridiculed by the population of the time. A good timeline to test against scripture was found here.
If there was a “Nineveh” back in 6,000 B.C., it would have had to have existed as God was still creating the world or immediately after. There are no mentions of cities in the timeline of the Bible, during the lifetime of Adam and Eve except from Cain. The first city mentioned in the Bible is that which Cain named after his son, Enoch in Genesis 4:17. It is Genesis 10 that the cities Noah’s sons built are named and ironically in verse 12, Nineveh is not mentioned as a great city, but the city of “Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city”.
No such mention of the flood here, which would have taken place a couple hundred years before this. Everyone but Noah’s family was destroyed in the flood, so how could these “Akkadians” have continued to flourish after “earthquakes”?
Akkadian was allegedly a Semitic civilization in which Sumarians and Semitic people blended cultures and spoke each others language. "Akkadian" the link claims, is regarded as possibly the oldest or the "first" known empire. If we adhered to this suggestion, we would have to wipe out Nineveh and the first cities of the sons of Noah including Babel. Sennacharib doesn’t show up in Scripture until 2 Kings 18:3, well after the flood, where he “took all the fenced cities of Judah.” In 2 Kings 19:36 Sennacherib returns to Nineveh.
In Genesis 10:10 there is a possibility of the mention of a city established by Nimrod named “Accad” which is close to “Akkadia” or “Akkad”. This could perhaps be from where Sennacherib came from, but it is still after they embark off the ark of Noah in circa 2500 B.C.
None of this is important in whether we go to heaven or not, but it is just one example of how things can be tested with scripture and how easily “science” and “history” have tried to wipe out or embellish on truth.
I will leave you with this for now, it is the documentary “The God Makers”. You can of course take notes or research the claims made of the Mormon church presented in this documentary. After this subject, we will be moving on to some Revelations from Paul of Tarsus. We left a teaser on the “Book of Michael” blog titled “Three Alaps In His Name” and we will discover more about Paul and that word next topic.
Something to remember – Every single prophet and son of God who translated from sons of men were blessed because they loved God more than themselves. They loved God more than their lives. Even as many were called, not all were chosen because they could not let go of the world with one hand as they tried reaching for God with the other . . .
Reach for God with both hands. Jesus was here not only to save us and restore creation – he was also sent to teach us and show us what love is.
In another generation, so was another before he was taken out of the way and caught up to God. And it is written that if we see him again in the flesh, not to be deceived.
I am a failure at following in the footsteps of the great teachers, but I am not a quitter and neither should any of you be. The closer I am to that Ghost given in the name of he who loved wholly, the closer I am to the potential God designed me to be.
God bless you . . . and BRB . . .
